Amazing wedding dress inspiration from the catwalks

Each season, Bridal Week is a source of inspiration for brides-to-be everywhere.

The wedding dresses proposed for the seasons of 2015 and 2016 are all fairy-like, lacy and comfy.

Take a look at my selection:

Tulle skirt - How to wear it?

In January I decided to order a tulle skirt from Zaza Boutique. The skirt looks like the one below, but in powder pink.

It was delivered quick enough (considering it was made to measure), but I didn't have a chance to wear it yet (it's not my fault, it's the spring and its tardiness).

A month after buying it, another opportunity to wear it has presented itself: I will wear it for my courthouse wedding. Since then, I have searched Pinterest and the online shops (yep, no time to visit brick-and-mortar ones) and I am yet to find the perfect look.

I like the peplum style tops like the ones from H&M or ASOS. I think they would look cool with the tulle skirt.

I almost never wear shirts, let alone jeans shirts, so this look is a complete no-no for me.

Turtlenecks and jumpers are an idea, but I am not completely in love with this look either.

I don't think that lace tops look too good with tulle skirts. It seems to me they move the focus away from the skirt.

I like the cropped tops with tulle skirts, but would they be a good option for the civil ceremony? Would I not be too naked?

This kind of top is something that I really fancy.

The wedding dress - a dress for one day?

Age of the innocence wedding dress

When I first saw "The age of the innocence" (yes, to my shame I only saw the movie, I have not read the book), the following quote shocked me :

"It was the custom, in old New York, for brides to appear in this costly garment during the first year or two of marriage."

I tried to imagine in our days how odd would this custom be: big puffy white dresses to be worn in public after the day of the wedding. It would look at least odd, even if you wore it to a formal reception.

In an age of "trash the dress" photo-shoots, who would do anything else to their wedding dress?

Then, I read about the rumour Keira Knightely caused by, not only wearing an already owned dress for her wedding in the South of France, but also wearing the same dress on a few more ocassions, until it got stained with red wine.

Keira Knightely wedding dress

The Chanel Haute Cuture dress was first worn by the actress in 2008, making her 2013 nuptials the second time she has worn it in public. She declared that she chose a dress she had a good time in, and it was her "something old" for the wedding.

Since then, Keira was seen wearing her wedding dress for with at least two more occasions.

She doesn't regret it  having been destroyed because she is " happy with the memory of a good night and the story of how the dress got destroyed."

I have always hated the big puffy wedding dress type. I have always admired the dresses that looked less "bridey". Now, I wonder, can't I pull off a Keira and have a dress that can be worn again, like in The age of the innocence? Come to think of it, i can do whatever I like (isn't that what all the brides are supposed to do on their big day?).

So, my contenders for the "Keira  dress" job are:

Paris Fashion Week - Street Style

It seems like, these days, the street style spotted around the Paris Fashion Week is at least as exciting as the runway shows.

Starting with the queen of fashion blogging, Olivia Palermo, most of the girls from the fashion elite made an impression at the PFW 2015.
